BattleCry free-to-play multiplayer Shooter
A highly-stylised multiplayer combat game. not your typical shooter.
Design director Lucas Davis says “BattleCry is a new breed of multiplayer”
Introducing the game at Bethesda’s pre-E3 showcase. Davis talks about the 32-player team combat game with a historic twist.
Step into a bold, expressive world envisioned by Viktor Antonov (Half-Life 2, Dishonored) where gun powder has been banned following a cataclysmic world war at the dawn of the 20th century. Traditional warfare is now a relic of the past and all conflicts are settled head-on by elite teams of chosen warriors in sanctioned WarZones. Trained and bred for battle they face off for the glory of their nations.
Davis says “We got our inspiration from Devil May Cry, God of War, Arkham Asylum, those are the games that have inspired our combat design. We want to make a game that has intimate visceral combat.
We don’t want to build another FPS. there are too many out on the market already. MOBAs, we don’t want to do a me-too MOBA. its not going to be a combat RPG or action RPG.
The BattleCry’s team seems absolutely set on doing something different in the Free to play multiplayer genre, and we only have to wait until 2015 to get in on the Beta.
